The fourth-ranked and undefeated Baylor women's basketball team is enjoying success in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. The 14-player Lady Bear roster posted a 3.04 grade point average (GPA) for the recently completed fall semester. Nine players, including all five freshmen, qualified for the Fall Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll, including two who earned Baylor Dean's List recognition.
Freshman post Beatrice Mompremier led the way with a 4.0 GPA, earning Dean's List honors, while freshman guard Alexandria Gulley also qualified for the impressive list.
In addition to Mompremier and Gulley, seven other Lady Bears earned Fall Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll honors including freshmen Kalani Brown, Alyssa Dry and Justis Szczepanski, sophomore Kristy Wallace and graduate students Chardonae Fuqua', Kristina Higgins and Niya Johnson.
Junior guard Alexis Prince, graduating in just 3 ½ years, received her Baylor diploma at Thursday's game vs. Oral Roberts. Baylor president and chancellor Ken Starr presented Prince with her diploma in pregame ceremonies since the Lady Bears were in Florida on graduation day playing in the Florida Sunshine Classic.
