WACO, Texas -- Baylor's 2016 football schedule, including six home games and its annual neutral-site game at AT&T stadium in Arlington, was released Tuesday by the Big 12 Conference office.

Among six home dates at beautiful McLane Stadium are league games against Oklahoma State (conference-opener Sept. 24), Kansas (Oct. 15), TCU (Nov. 5) and Kansas State (Nov. 19).

The back-to-back Big 12 champions will play nine of 12 regular-season games in the state of Texas in 2016, leaving the Lone Star state for road games at Iowa State (Oct. 1), at Oklahoma (Nov. 12) and the season-finale at West Virginia (Dec. 3). The remaining two true road games are Sept. 17 at Rice and Oct. 29 at Texas.

The annual Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Baylor-Texas Tech Shootout is scheduled for the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 25, at the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Baylor's pre-conference opponents include former Southwest Conference foes SMU (Sept. 10 in Waco) and Rice (Sept. 17 in Houston), as well as Northwestern State (Sept. 3 in Waco) in the season-opener.

All 12 dates are subject to change based on requests received from the Big 12's television partners or other factors. The date for Baylor's 2016 Homecoming celebration will be designated at a later time.

No. 7 Baylor returns to action Friday vs. 15th-ranked TCU in Fort Worth in a game that kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
