THE RUNDOWN
DALLAS, Texas - The Baylor equestrian team (7-1, 2-1 Big 12) picked up a big 10-7 road win over the No. 10 SMU Mustangs (2-5, 1-1 UEC) on Friday at the Sleepy P Ranch.
After SMU jumped to a 3-1 lead in fences, Baylor answered back with a 3-1 mark in horsemanship to tie the meet back at 4-4. Freshman rider Aspen Crew earned MOP (Most Outstanding Player) honors in the event, her first of the season.
Baylor took a 7-5 lead following equitation on the flat, with Alicia Gasser earning MOP and scoring a meet-high 89.
The Bears closed out the victory in reining, led by Charlotte Green, earning MOP honors with a score of 70.
