WACO, Texas - Following a commanding win over South Carolina, the Baylor equestrian team (6-1, 2-1 Big 12) earned a boost in the recent NCEA poll, moving up to No. 2 in the standings released Tuesday by the NCEA Selection Committee.

After being handed the team's only loss of the season in the final meet of a three-meet road wing to now 5th-ranked Oklahoma State, Baylor rebounded with a 16-3 win over defending national champion No. 8 South Carolina, matching the worst loss in program history for the Gamecocks.

"I'd obviously rather be moving up than down," said Baylor head coach Ellen White. "Really, at this point where we are at in the season, I love that we're winning. I just want to continue winning. I don't put a whole lot into where we're ranked until the end. Then I care very badly, with our hopes on being No. 1. But the girls are riding great, and I hope that they continue to do so."

The team closes out the fall portion of the schedule on Friday, Nov. 20 at SMU. Following the meet in Dallas, the squad breaks for the winter break and picks back up on Jan. 30 at Auburn.
