WACO, Texas - The Baylor track and field team will compete in its final regular-season meet of the outdoor campaign on Saturday as the Bears return to Austin, Texas, for the Longhorn Invitational at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

BU has competed in the state's capitol twice this season already at the 87th-annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and three weeks ago at the Texas Invitational.

The Bears are scheduled to have 23 men's athletes and 27 women's performers in action. The BU men's and women's teams are both ranked No. 15 in the latest USTFCCCA listings.

Baylor's athletes will face competition from Akron, Cal State Northridge, Colorado Concordia, East Texas Baptist, Houston Baptist, Huston-Tillotson, Kentucky, McNeese State, North Texas, Sam Houston State, Stanford, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas Tyler and Utah, as well as the host Longhorns.

Currently, Baylor has 10 performances that rank inside the top-20 in the NCAA for 2014.

On the men's side, freshman Trayvon Bromell continues to own the fastest 100-meter time in the country at 10.01 and the fifth-fastest mark in the 200-meters at 20.23. This week, Bromell will get the week off, after winning the Drake Relays 100-meter title a week ago.

Senior Blake Heriot has the ninth-best time at the 200-meter distance in 20.45. He is scheduled to only run that event on Saturday.

That men's 4x100-relay team of Bromell, Heriot, Everett Walker and Alex Reece are the country's fifth-fastest quartet at 39.09. The quartet will not compete in Austin.

In the 4x400-meter relay, the BU men's squad of Isaiah Duke, TJ Holmes, Drew Seale and Heriot are currently ranked 17th in a time of 3:05.86. A Baylor quartet will go for a better time on Saturday.

For the women, Tiffani McReynolds holds the seventh-best mark in the 110-hurdle event in 12.98. She will run her signature event at the Longhorn Invitational as she looks to improve on that time.

Rachel Johnson is third nationally in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a school-record time of 9:49.31. She will not run on Saturday.

Waco-product Annie Rhodes is 10th in the pole vault with a leap of 14-0 [4.27m]. Meanwhile, Brianna Richardson is 17th in the triple jump, after a jump of 42-3.25 [12.88m] at the Texas Relays. Rhodes will be jumping on Saturday, while Richardson is schedule to have the day off.

In the relays, the Baylor women are eighth-best in the 4x400-meter event with a time of 3:31.89, which was run by Alyssa Nichols, Ashley Fields, Olicia Williams and Raena Rhone at the Drake Relays. The 4x4 crew is not slated to run on Saturday.

After the Longhorn Invitational, Baylor will take a weekend off, before heading to Lubbock, Texas, for the Big 12 Championships, May 16-18.
