THE RUNDOWN
Acrobatics & Tumbling (3-4) took control from the start to defeat Fairmont State (7-3) 276.920-267.170 Friday afternoon in Azusa, Calif., at the Felix Event Center. The Bears advance to the NCATA National Championship semifinals for the third time in the previous four seasons.

Baylor started off the afternoon strong, taking the Compulsory Event 38.20-37.95. In the Acro Event, the Bears extended the lead a little more to 66.70-65.80. In the final event before the half, Pyramid, Baylor took two of the three heats to lead 96.25-95.05.

After the half, the Bears held off Fairmont State in the Toss Event, 124.70-123.40. Baylor then dominated the Tumbling Event, sweeping all six heats 183.150-176.95. In the Team Routine and final event of the meet, Baylor sealed the victory with a strong showing 276.920-267.170.

HIGHLIGHTS
• Freshman Kiara Nowlin impressed again with a perfect 10.00 in the 6 Element heat of the Tumbling Event.
• Baylor took the Team Routine with a score of 93.77-90.17.
• The Bears won the Compulsory Event 38.20-37.95, taking the Acro heat 9.60-9.55 and Tumbling heat 8.90-8.60.
• Baylor took heats 2 and 3 of the three heats in the Acro event 9.70-9.05 and 9.65-9.45.
• Heat 1 team of the Pyramid Event scored a 9.95.
• Bears also took heat 2 of the Pyramid Event 9.85-9.55.
• Baylor won heat 1 of the Toss Event 9.75-9.65 and tied Fairmont State in both heat 2 and heat 3 with 9.20 and 9.50.
• In the Open heat of the Tumbling Event, freshman Kaelyn Cowan scored a 9.95.
• In the Aerial Pass heat of the Tumbling Event, sophomore Courtney Pate scored a 9.90.

STAT OF THE DAY
• The Bears swept all six off the Tumbling heats starting with the Duo 9.65-9.10, Trio 9.40-8.45, Quad 9.55-8.15, Aerial 9.90-8.825, 6 Element 10.00-9.30 and Open 9.90-9.725 for a total of 58.45-53.55.

"These ladies had a solid performance, they were determined to stay focused until the end. This was one of their best meets to date. I am very proud of the seniors for leading their team to victory," said head coach LaPrise Harris-Williams.
