WACO, Texas - After winning nine events at its outdoor season opener, the Baylor track and field team will travel to Austin, Texas, for four days of competition at the 87th-annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

In total BU has 44 competitors scheduled to take part in one of the country's biggest meets starting on Wednesday. Baylor's 17th-ranked men's team will have 20 participants competing, while the 25th-ranked women will have 24 athletes suit up. Six other Baylor student-athletes will be in action at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, starting on Thursday.

The Texas Relays open at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday with the beginning of the two-day multi-events. Thursday's action will feature the 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters, and the steeplechase events. The Friday evening session will showcase University/College events for both men and women across the field disciplines, including pole vault, shot put and long jump. That night will also feature the sprint medley and distance medley relays. Saturday will get underway with field events at 10 a.m. and running events starting at noon.

Last week at the TCU Invitational, the Bears claimed nine event titles, highlighted by the school-record pole vault of freshman Annie Rhodes and the 20.23 200-meter run of freshman Trayvon Bromell, which currently is the fastest time at that distance in the country.

The Baylor men have a number of other marks that are near the best in the country. Senior Blake Heriot is second to Bromell in the 200-meter with a time of 20.45, while Alex Reece (20.99) is 14th in that event. Bryce Grace is tied for fifth nationally in the 110-hurldes with a mark of 13.98. In the relays, BU 4x1 squad is second with a time of 39.48 and the mile relay team is 12th.

Meanwhile on the women's side Taije Jordan is sixth nationally in the 100-hurdles with a time of 13.47. Rhodes pole vault is sixth-best in the country, measuring13-5.25 [4.10m]. BU's women's 4x400-meter relay team is 15th.
