THE RUNDOWN MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - The West Virginia Mountaineers collected 18 blocks and got 17 kills from Jordan Anderson in a 25-22, 25-21, 26-24 win over Baylor Saturday night at WVU Coliseum.
The Mountaineers' (15-13, 4-10) six blocks per set helped hold the Bears (14-16, 4-11) to a .058 hitting percentage in the win, and Hanna Shreve collected 10 total blocks for WVU. Anderson, the Big 12's leader in kills per set, hit .308 while adding six digs and four blocks for the Mountaineers.
Andie Malloy's 14 kills gave the junior outside hitter 24 matches this season for Baylor where she had at least 10 kills.
Baylor trailed 20-16 in set three before rallying for a 6-1 run to take a 22-21 lead. However, when the match was tied at 24, West Virginia closed out the sweep by taking advantage of a Baylor attacking error followed by their 18th block of the match to close the game.
