WACO, Texas - While still in the midst of the 2014 Big 12 season, the sixth-ranked Baylor football team learned its 2015 conference slate, which was released by the Big 12 office on Wednesday.

Baylor will open next season's league schedule with back-to-back away games. First on Oct. 3, the Bears will again play Texas Tech at AT&T Stadium for the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Shootout in Arlington, Texas. That neutral site contest will be followed by a true road game at Kansas (Oct. 10).

Baylor then welcomes West Virginia (Oct. 17) and Iowa State (Oct. 24) to McLane Stadium for the first time. An off-week precedes a Thursday night showdown with Kansas State on Nov. 5 in Manhattan, Kan.

BU then returns to Waco to host Oklahoma (Nov. 14), before heading north to take on Oklahoma State (Nov. 21) in Stillwater. On the Friday after Thanksgiving, Baylor will meet longtime rival TCU (Nov. 27) in Fort Worth as the Bears go for their third straight win against the Horned Frogs.

The Bears close the season on Dec. 5 by hosting Texas at McLane Stadium. That contest will be almost two years from the day that BU took down the Longhorns in the final game at Floyd Casey Stadium to win the school's first Big 12 title.

Baylor's 2014 non-conference schedule, released previously, includes home games against Lamar (Sept. 12) and Rice (Sept. 26), but the Bears will open the 2015 season on the road at SMU (Sept. 5). All 12 dates are subject to change based on requests received from the Big 12's television partners or other factors.

A date for Baylor's 2015 Homecoming celebration will be set at a later time.

Baylor, which is ranked No. 6 in the AP and coaches' top 25 polls and No. 7 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, returns to action when it hosts Oklahoma State at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday at McLane Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on FOX. Fans are encouraged to join the team in wearing black at the game and to spread the word by using #EveryoneInBlack on social media.
