WACO, Texas - Nina Davis had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Khadijiah Cave scored 19 and No. 8 Baylor rolled to a 101-60 victory against Oral Roberts in the season opener for both teams Friday night.
The Lady Bears, playing without either Brittney Griner or Odyssey Sims for the first time in more than five years, took a 12-0 lead and were up by double digits for good with 14 minutes left in the first half.
Imani Wright had three of Baylor's four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points, while freshman Kristy Wallace from Australia debuted with 11 points and three steals.
Vicky McIntyre had 10 points and 17 rebounds for Oral Roberts, and Jordan Doyle scored 14.
HIGHLIGHTS
? Nina Davis scored 22 points finishing with her 32nd career game with at least 10 points. It was the seventh time in her career to score at least 20 points and her sixth time to lead the Lady Bears in scoring.
? Davis finished with 10 rebounds to reach double figures in that category for the 14th time in her career.
? Davis' 22 points and 10 rebounds gave her the 13th double-double of her career. She led the Lady Bears in rebounding for the 17th time in her career.
? Imani Wright finished with 18 points, which surpassed her career high of 15 (at Oklahoma 2/3/14; Nicholls St. 11/14/13). It was the seventh time in her career to reach double figures in scoring.
? Niya Johnson's fifth assist Friday was the 350th of her career; she finished the game with eight and led the Lady Bears in assists for the 29th time in her career.
? Khadijah Cave finished with a career-high 19 points passing her previous career high of 18 (vs. Kentucky, 3/29/14) and reached double figures for the 11th time in her career.
? Kristy Wallace made her collegiate debut and finished with 11 points and three rebounds
? Deleiya Cohen made her collegiate debut and score six points to go with five rebounds.
