TULSA, Okla. - Baylor men's tennis players went 1-1 on the first day of main draw singles action at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships as
Julian Lenz won in three sets and
Diego Galeano fell in straight sets at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Thursday.
Due to rain in the Tulsa area, all matches on the first day of main draw action were moved indoors.
Lenz, the country's No. 1 ranked singles player and the event's No. 1 seed, fell down early losing the first set to Miami's Piotr Lomacki, 6-3. However, Lenz bounced back to take the next two sets 7-5 and 6-3 to claim the contest.
The 26th-ranked Galeano was unable to get any momentum against the 28th-ranked Ryan Shane of Virginia as Shane recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory against the BU senior.

Lenz will now move on to the second round to face Old Dominion's Carlos Lopez Villa, who is ranked No. 42, at 9 a.m. Lopez Villa beat 21st-ranked Hunter Reese of Tennessee on Thursday, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, to advance to the second round. Meanwhile, Galeano will have a consolation match vs. Auburn's Lukas Ollert at 9 a.m. Ollert is ranked No. 32 in the country.
