Lenz Eliminated In Quarterfinal Round of Sherwood Cup

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -
Baylor's men's tennis sophomore Julian Lenz fell in the quarterfinal round of the Sherwood Collegiate Cup to UCLA's No. 62 Mackenzie McDonald 6-3, 6-2 at the Sherwood Country Club on Saturday.

Three other Baylor players recorded wins in the consolation back draw of the event. Senior Robert Verzaal got past USC's Nick Crystal of USC 6-4, 6-4, while No. 92 Tony Lupieri beat Robbie Bellamy of USC 6-1, 6-4. Freshman Vincent Schneider also picked up a win on day two getting past Filip Vittek of San Diego, 7-5, 6-7(5), 10-4.

WHAT'S NEXT? Three Baylor players will compete in the back draw of the event on Sunday. Verzaal will face Max deVroom, while No. 92 Lupieri will face teammate Schneider.
