NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Baylor track and field team closed out the Alex Wilson Invitational with three individuals recording personal bests, while both of its 4x400-meter relay teams established season-best times on Saturday.

"It was a very good day, but a little bit stingy on the ladies side," head coach Todd Harbour said. "We improved our times and marks across the board, but it looks like our ladies' 4x400-meter relay team is going to be the first one out of the NCAA Championships.

Despite recording a season-best mark of 3:35.27 to earn fifth, the women's 4x400-meter team of Christina Holland, Ashley Fields, Idia Omogiate and Raena Rhone is currently not included in the NCAA Championship field of 12 relay teams. The quartet's newly established time is 13th on the NCAA automatic qualifying list.

On the men's side, Baylor's relay team of Isaiah Duke, Drew Seale, Justin Allen and Richard Gary turned in a season-best time of 3:07.85 to take fifth. That group is currently ranked 12th on the NCAA automatically qualifying list and looks to be into the national championship event.

Individually, the day opened with freshman Brianna Richardson tallying a new personal-record of 41-11.25 to be second in the triple jump. That mark is currently 25th in the country and out of contention for a spot in the top 16 and an automatic trip to the NCAA Championships.

Another freshman, Olicia Williams registered a 10th-place showing in the 800-meters as she set a personal-best time of 2:07.04.

Senior Joe Barb also had an indoor-career best time of 47.82 to take 18th in the 400-meters.

"Brianna looked really good in the triple jump in setting a personal best, while Olicia and Joe both set personal bests in their events, so that bodes well for all of them heading into the outdoor season," Harbour said.

All told, Baylor has six individuals and its men's 4x400-meter relay teams qualified for the NCAA Championships, which take place in Fayetteville, Ark. at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Complex on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9.
