NEW ORLEANS, La. - Baylor (13-1) picked up its third tournament title of the year, capturing the Katy Troclair Memorial with a 3-0 win (25-19, 25-22, 25-18) over Tulane (3-9) Saturday night at the Hertz Center. Winners of nine-straight, the Bears' 13-1 mark matches the best start to a season since the 2009 squad began 17-1.

"We really picked it up defensively tonight and finally played a complete match," head coach Jim Barnes said. "As we move forward, our defense is going to have to be big for us, and it was nice to see it show up this evening."

Baylor outdug the Green Wave 52-43 and hit .279, while holding Tulane to a .150 hitting percentage.

Alyssa Dibbern registered 13 kills, while Adri Nora had nine to go with a .538 hitting percentage. Kate Harris added her second double-double of the weekend with 37 assists and 15 digs, while Mackenzie Mayo added 10 digs of her own. Laura Jones picked up eight kills on the night to go with a team-leading four blocks.

Baylor scored the first seven points of the match, but Tulane would eventually get the advantage to just two, 17-15. Baylor proceeded to go on a 6-1 run to put the set away, swinging .281. Harris had nine digs in the opener, while Dibbern and Nora each totaled four kills.

The Bears took a 4-3 lead in set two and never looked back, stretching the advantage to as many as six before finishing off the Green Wave 25-22. BU continued to look the way of Dibbern and Nora, recording five kills apiece.

BU and Tulane exchanged early blows before a 7-2 run from the Bears gave them a 12-7 lead in the third. The Bears block showed up in the final set, collecting four team blocks, while Dibbern continued her hot hand with four kills and a .571 swing in the set.

Nora was named MVP of the tournament, her second of the year, while Campbell and Harris were each named to the All-Tournament team.

Baylor will remain on the road for its eighth-consecutive match, traveling to North Texas on Tues., Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
