NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Freshman Bri Campos made her debut with the Baylor women's soccer team count as the forward delivered a game-tying goal in the 88th minute of action to help the Bears earn a 1-1 draw at Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon in BU's lone exhibition match of the season.

"We were able to use a lot of players and see some new kids and veterans in a lot of situations," head coach Marci Jobson said. "I was proud of the girls' ability to get past a lot of adversity from our crazy travel day yesterday. This is a good start to a long season."

In her first collegiate match, Campos, a Centennial, Colo. native, netted the equalizer for BU in the closing minutes. The opportunity came off of a free kick inside the midfield stripe from junior defender Taylor Heatherly. Her kick towards the penalty area bounced off several players before ending up in Campos' possession near the edge of the six-yard box. She spun and hit an overhead kick that got past Irish goalkeeper Maddie Fox with only 2:07 remaining in regulation.

Notre Dame tallied its only score of the contest early with a goal by forward Lauren Bohaboy in the ninth minute. Bohaboy's chance came on a penalty kick that occurred following a foul inside the penalty area.

However, the BU defense would tighten and hold Notre Dame scoreless the remainder of the match. The defensive effort was anchored by redshirt sophomore Michelle Kloss, who started in goal and registered three saves in the first 65:48, while freshman Meredith Starkcame in to close out the contest and was credited with two stops.

The Irish outshot the Bears, 15-10, including a 6-5 edge in shots on goal.

Notre Dame was looking to go to 2-0 in exhibition play, after downing seventh-ranked Virginia, 2-0, on Friday. The Fighting Irish were selected to win this season's Big East title in a vote by the league's coaches.

Baylor will begin the 2012 regular season at Rice on Friday at 7 p.m. Following the season opener, the Bears will return home to face Northwestern State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
