IRVING, Texas - Baylor sophomore running back Lache Seastrunk was named the Big 12 Offensive Co-Player of the Week, while junior linebacker Eddie Lackey garnered the league's defensive accolade for a second straight week for their efforts in Saturday's 41-34 win over No. 23 Oklahoma State.

It is the first time in program history that Baylor players have been honored with the Big 12's offensive and defensive awards in the same week. Lackey's accolade gives the BU defense a conference award winner in three straight weeks for the first time in Big 12 history.

Seastrunk, a native of Temple, Texas, racked up 178 yards rushing on 16 attempts vs. the Cowboys. His one touchdown run, a 76-yard scamper, came with 5:11 remaining in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory for BU. During the run, Seastrunk's left leg cramped up 45-yards from the end zone, but he was still able to outrace a trio of OSU defenders to the goal line.

For the game, Seastrunk averaged 11.1 yards per carry, while posting his third straight performance with over 100 yards rushing. He also had runs of 21 and 10-yards, each time on 3rd-and-5, on back-to-back to drives in the third quarter to help BU get into position for field goals.

Seastrunk is the first Baylor player to earn Big 12 offensive honors this season. He joins Jonathan Golden (2002) and Terrance Gannaway (2011) as the only BU running backs to win the award. The Bears have now had seven different players win the offensive distinction 11 different times in the 17-year history of the Big 12.

A Murrieta, Calif., native, Lackey is the first BU player to win the defensive honor in back-to-back weeks. He joins safety Bryon Landor as the only Baylor athletes to earn the defensive award twice in one season. Lackey's selection marks the 13th time a Baylor player has earned the league's weekly defensive honor.

In the win over OSU, Lackey had an interception and a career-high and team-leading 15 tackles, including 12 solo tackles. He turned his third interception in the last two games into a 26-yard pick-six that gave Baylor its first lead of the game, 10-3, with 7:58 remaining in the first quarter. The Bears would never relinquish that lead.

Lackey is the first BU €ˆplayer with two interception touchdown returns over a two-game span since Samir Al-Amin had two on Nov. 24, 2001, vs. Southern Illinois.

Along with Seastrunk, Geno Smith (West Virginia) was the other Offensive Player of the Week and Tress Way (Oklahoma) was the conference's special teams honoree, as selected by a media panel.

After tallying its third straight season with seven or more wins, Baylor accepted a bid to play in the 2012 Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. It is the first time in program history the Bears have earned bowl bids in three consecutive seasons.

Baylor will face UCLA from the Pac-12 Conference when the nationally televised (ESPN) Holiday Bowl is played at 8:45 p.m. CST on Dec. 27.
