MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - A trio of newly named All-Americans will suit up for the Baylor track and field team this spring as Allex Austin, Felix Obi and Brianna Richardson were recently given the distinction by Track and Field News magazine.

Austin is ranked as the No. 2 high jumper in the country. He was a two-time Texas state champion at San Marcos High School, clearing 7-1, while earning district MVP and all-region accolades.

Obi, a native of El Paso, Texas, is tabbed as the country's second-best triple jumper. He was a Texas state champion for Franklin High School with a jump of 51-5.75.

On the women's side, Richardson, a triple jumper, is listed at No. 5 in the country. The Heath, Texas product, recorded back-to-back Texas state titles in the triple jump in 2011 and 2012. She tallied a personal record of 42-0 at the Texas Relays during her senior year of high school.

The complete list of high school All-Americans can be found in the December issue of Track and Field News.

The Baylor track team will open its spring season on Jan. 12 at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas.
