Meet Information

WACO, Texas- Baylor's cross country team will host the second of three meets at home this season with the Baylor Invitational on Saturday morning at the BU Intramural Fields in Waco, Texas.

The women's race will consist of a 4,000-meter loop, while the men's will cover 6,000 meters around the campus intramural fields, located near the Ferrell Center at the corner of LaSalle Avenue and University Parks Drive. The meet will begin with the women at 8 a.m., followed by the men at 8:30 a.m.

The was originally schedule for the Bear Run Cross Country Course in North Waco, but brush fires from dry conditions forced the relocation to campus.

Along with Baylor, which is regionally ranked third on the women's side and ninth on the men's, Texas A&M, North Texas, UT-Arlington, Northwood College and Arlington Baptist will enter the field. TAMU enters the weekend regionally ranked third on the men's and sixth on the women's side.

The Baylor men will look to add to a spectacular start to the season, which includes team victories in each of the first two meets. Sophomore Brad Miles has led the Bears so far, finishing fourth at the Bear Twilight Invitational before winning last weekend's UTA Season Opener.

Along with Miles, freshmen Derwin Graham and Alex Le Roux have had impressive finishes in their first two collegiate races. Graham placed second at UTA and ninth at the Bear Twilight, while Le Roux has collected two top 11 finishes. Sophomores Jonathan Tijerina and Taylor Jackson have also stepped in to solidify the top five for the Bears.

While some of the top BU women's runners will rest for next week's strong field at the Toledo Inter-Regional, head coach Todd Harbour will rely on his established depth. In two meets, the Lady Bears have claimed a team title at the Bear Twilight and a third-place finish at UTA with a total of nine runners finishing in the team's top five in at least one of the races.

Senior Samantha Patty and freshman Karlee Kleiber, who finished 15th and 16th at the Bear Twilight Invitational earlier this season, will head the women's squad. Leah Frazier, who finished 14th and broke her personal two-mile best at UTA by two minutes, will provide depth to the top of the BU lineup.
