WACO, Texas- Senior Cate Westenhover led the race wire-to-wire to win and lead the Baylor women to the team title, while the BU men finished second at the Bear Twilight Invitational on Thursday evening at the HOT Soccer Complex in Waco, Texas.

Westenhover led a sweep of the top four spots on the women's side for Baylor, with the senior being following in closely by three freshmen. The Lady Bears took five of the top eight spots to score just 17 points as a team, 58 less than second-place Texas State.

Meanwhile, the Baylor men had four of the top 11 spots, including a fourth-place showing from sophomore Brad Miles to finish second behind Texas A&M's 25 points with 40.

"It was a really good meet on both sides, and I'm proud of the way our men and women came out and competed," head coach Todd Harbour said. "Cate (Westenhover) and our group of freshman looked good on the women's side, and I thought Brad (Miles) and the freshman guys had a good race."

A native of Austin, Texas, Westenhover covered the four-kilometer course in 14 minutes, 6.3 seconds, just seven seconds ahead of freshman Rachel Johnson. The Plano, Texas, native Johnson led a trio of freshman that included third-place Bree Schrader (14:16.1) and Erin Hegarty (14:23.1).

Senior Kristen Hanselka rounded out the top five with an eighth-place finish with a time of 14:45.1.

Redshirt freshman Mariah Kelly and sophomore Robyn Bennett each had a solid race with a 10th and 14th-place finishes. Kelly broke the 15-minute barrier with a time of 14:48.6 and Bennett crossed the line in 15:01.6

On the men's side, Miles led the Baylor pack the entire way, pushing up to the front throughout. The sophomore finished fourth overall with a six-kilometer time of 18:57.8. Miles' fellow sophomore Taylor Jackson was next across the line in eighth at 19:19.3.

Behind Jackson, a pair of freshman came through for the Bears with Derwin Graham finishing ninth at 19:20.5 and Alex Le Roux placing 11th at 19:30.8. Senior Zac Flowers rounded out the Baylor top five in 21st (19:54.9).

Baylor will hit the road for the first time in 2011 with a trip to UT-Arlington for the UTA Season Opener on Sept. 10.
