Complete Schedule

WACO, Texas - Baylor cross country head coach Todd Harbour announced the release of the 2011 schedule, which includes three home meets over the course of the busy season.

"Overall, we have put together a challenging schedule that will help prepare us for the postseason," Harbour said. "We are excited to have three meets in Waco this season, which will give us a chance to rest our legs from travel and battle some great competition."

The men's and women's squads will be in the friendly confines of Waco, Texas, in two of the first three weekends of the season. Opening the season on Thursday, Sept. 1, with the Bear Twilight Invitational at the HOT Soccer Fields, BU will travel to the UTA Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 10, before returning home for the Baylor Invitational one week later on Sept. 17.

Continuing a busy month of September, the Bears will hit the road for the final two weekends with the women only on Sept. 23 in Toledo, Ohio, at the Toledo Inter-Regional. Both teams will travel for a Sept. 30 meet in nearby South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invite.

After a needed week off during the first weekend of October, Baylor will send split squads to the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., on Oct. 15, and the elite NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., on Oct. 16.

A conference preparation off-week follows pre-nationals to prepare the squads for the Big 12 Championships on Oct. 29 in College Station, Texas.

BU will return home for the final time of the season, hosting the NCAA South Central Regional on Nov. 12 at Cottonwood Country Club for the fourth year in a row and seventh time in the last eight seasons. The top two teams on each side will advance automatically to the NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 21, in Terre Haute, Ind.

Baylor's women will look to get back to the national meet, missing the team event in 2010 after earning seven consecutive berths. Senior Cate Westenhover and sophomore Robyn Bennett each earned individual berths to the 2010 NCAAs for the Lady Bears. Baylor's men will be looking for the second berth in program history, with the only team bid coming in 1994.
