WACO, Texas - Eleven regular-season tournaments headlined by six in-state events highlight the 2011-12 Baylor men's golf schedule, ninth-year head coach Greg Priest announced Friday. Last season, the Bears extended their streak to 14 consecutive NCAA postseason appearances, falling three strokes shy of making a return trip to the NCAA Championship.

"Every year, our goal is to win a Big 12 title and make it to the NCAA Championship," Priest said. "We've made 14 consecutive NCAA regional trips and that's a testament to not only our team but the caliber of competition we face week-in and week-out.

"Like last season, this schedule will present challenges for us, but these are the types of tournaments we need to keep our program playing at a very high, competitive level," Priest said."

Baylor opens its fall competition schedule with three straight out-of-state tournaments, beginning with the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate (Sept. 4-5) in Verona, N.Y. The following week, the Bears will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the Wolverine Intercollegiate (Sept. 12-13) before participating at the Rod Myers Invitational (Oct. 1-2) in Durham, N.C. Baylor concludes its fall schedule with the Lone Star Invitational (Oct. 16-18) in San Antonio and the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate (Oct. 31-Nov. 1) in Dallas. The fourth-year event will be held at the par-71, 7,068-yard course at Royal Oaks Country Club.

"We are fortunate to have a great relationship with Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas and have the opportunity to continue hosting a first-class event," Priest said. "The first three years (of the event) have been competitive and Royal Oaks' recent renovations have added that much more to the tournament atmosphere."

For the third consecutive season, Baylor will open its spring with the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational (Feb. 13-14) in San Antonio. After a trip to California for the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate (Feb. 25-26), the Bears return to Texas for the Border Olympics (March 16-17). The Augusta State Invitational (March 31-April 1), hosted by two-time defending national champion Augusta State, will serve as Baylor's final out-of-state regular-season tournament. Baylor closes the regular season at The Woodlands All-American Intercollegiate (April 9-10) and The Aggie Invitational (April 21-22).

The 2012 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship (April 26-28) will be held at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. Six NCAA Regional tournaments will be conducted May 17-19, followed by the 115th annual NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship (May 29-June 3) at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
