WACO - The No. 5 Baylor equestrian team will hit the road for the third annual Big 12 Equestrian Championship beginning Friday at 10:00 a.m. and wrapping up Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m. in College Station. The Bears will look to repeat as Big 12 Champs after winning the event in 2010 in Waco.

"We are excited to compete in the Big 12 Championships," head coach Ellen White said. "We have been competing very well lately and I think our best is still in front of us. We want to bring that trophy back with us to Waco."

Baylor will open as the No. 3 seed and face off against the No. 2 seed Oklahoma State, just the same as the 2010 Big 12 Championship. The Bears and Cowgirls have split so far this season, with each team winning on their home turf.

No. 1 seed Texas A&M and No. 4 seed Kansas State (5-7) will also compete at 10:00 a.m., Friday.

The winners of each contest will face off on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. to determine the champion, while the losers will battle for third place.

The 3,000-seat Expo Complex is located at 5827 Leonard Road in Bryan.
