Behind two goals from Vic Hoffman, the Baylor soccer team blanked SMU, 2-0 in spring action on Saturday at Betty Lou Mays Field.
Hoffman's first goal came in the eighth minute when Karlee Summey beat two players through the midfield and played a great ball to Dana Larsen running into the corner. Larsen hit a great left-footed ball to Hoffman on the back post, who touched it in for the only goal Baylor would need.
But Hoffman wasn't done, and in the 20th minute, Selby Polley headed the SMU throw-in to Alex Klein, who one-touched the ball to Hoffman who was posting up outside the 18-yard box. Hoffman then powered by the lone defender and a quick powerful shot from 25 yards out was too much for the SMU keeper to handle, deflecting off her glove into the net.
The Bears dominated the rest of the way, creating numerous opportunities to score, and picking up the shutout. All players saw action in the victory.
Baylor will next be in action on Saturday, May 2 at TCU beginning 1:00 p.m.
