WILMER, Texas - The No. 8 Baylor Equestrian team moved to 10-6 on the season with a 6-3 win over SMU Saturday afternoon at BuckBranch Farm in Wilmer, Texas. Saturday's competition featured Baylor's English team.
The Bears began the competition in strong fashion with a 5-0 sweep in equitation on the flat. Kendra Vicary's score of 72 was enough to earn her MVP honors for the competition. Taylor Brown (71), Lisa Goldman (69), Kim Woodsum (72) and Kara Fergusson (73) also earned points for Baylor.
Baylor was defeated, 3-1, in equitation over fences. Kara Fergusson (76) scored the lone point for the Bears. Despite the attempted comeback by the Mustangs, Baylor was able to hold onto a 6-3 victory.
The Bears will next be in action April 1 when they travel to College Station, Texas to compete in the Big 12 Championships.
