WACO - The Baylor soccer team placed four student-athletes on the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Team, including a program record three on the first team, announced Tuesday. Bethany Johnston, Dana Larsen and Courtney Seelhorst were named to the first team, while Lisa Sliwinski earned second-team honors.

During head coach Marci Jobson's four-year tenure, the Bears have had 12 student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors. In the program's previous 12 years, it had 10 players named.

Larsen, named to the first team for the second time in her career, is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 first-team member who holds a 4.0 GPA in Biochemistry. The junior forward leads the Bears in goals (10) and points (21).

Johnston, named to the second team in 2010, also has a perfect 4.0 GPA in Biochemistry. The junior midfielder has appeared in all 20 games, adding a pair of assists.

Seelhorst earned third-team honors a year ago and holds a 3.40 GPA in Pre-Physical Therapy. The senior goalkeeper leads the Big 12 in shutouts (9) and has helped a Baylor defense that has allowed just 13 goals, best in program history.

Sliwinski, named to the third team a year ago, is a Pre-Physical Therapy major who maintains a 3.89 GPA. She is second on the team in goals (8) and points (18).

With their first-team nominations, Johnston, Larsen and Seelhorst will be eligible for Academic All-American honors to be announced on Thursday, Dec. 1.
