Soccer Duo Earn Big 12 Honors

IRVING, Texas - The Baylor soccer team picked up a pair of conference honors, as Lisa Sliwinski was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and Courtney Seelhorst earned Defensive Player of the Week the Big 12 Conference office announced Tuesday.

Sliwinski, who earned her first conference award, scored three of Baylor's five goals over the weekend, leading the Bears to road wins over Kansas and Iowa State. Her pair of goals in a 3-1 win over the Jayhawks marked second multi-goal game of her career, while her score against the Cyclones proved to be the game winner in a 2-0 victory.

Seelhorst collected the second Big 12 award of her career after being named Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 5, 2010. Seelhorst allowed just one goal and made seven saves, helping lead Baylor to a pair of road wins over Kansas and Iowa State. Seelhorst's shutout of the Cyclones was her conference leading ninth of the season. In 15 starts this season, the senior has allowed only eight goals.

In addition to her Big 12 award, Sliwinski was also named the SOCCERSavings.com/Dallas Soccer News College Player of the Week.

Baylor will next be in action, hosting Missouri on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The night will be "Sic `Em For A Cure" as the first 300 fans will receive a pink t-shirt for breast cancer awareness.
