"It was a really outstanding opener for both teams," head coach Todd Harbour said. "We really accomplished what we needed to with this meet."

"Our men had probably the best effort I've seen since I've been (at Baylor)," Harbour said. "Robbie and Jeff had great races. It was nice to see the depth that we have on the men's side."
Meanwhile, freshman Brad Miles made an impact in the first collegiate race of his career, placing seventh overall as the third BU finisher with a time of 19:00.7. Also scoring among Baylor's top five was Brandon Reed, who placed ninth with a time of 19:14.0 and Brandon White, who was 10th with a time of 19:14.8.

"The ladies had a really super effort," Harbour said. "Our top five ran extremely well, it was all we could expect out of them. Cate had a really nice effort to win for the women."
Katie Shaw and Samantha Patty each cracked the top 10 as well, finishing eighth and ninth, respectively. Shaw clocked a time of 14:20.1, while Patty was two seconds back at 14:22.6.
