The 2010 Baylor soccer team has opened fall camp and is preparing for its Aug. 20 opener at home against Rice at 7:00 p.m.

"The girls showed up in great shape," head coach Marci Jobson said. "We are off to a great start and because we aren't working on getting in shape, we are really hitting the ground running."

Baylor returns eight starters and 22 letterwinners from a 2009 squad that wrapped up the season with an 8-6-5 mark, recording the most wins by the program since an eight-win season in 2002. In addition, BU registered three conference wins, which was the most since 2002, and qualified to the Big 12 Tournament for the first time since 2006.

Notes: Recently, senior Lindsey Johnson was named to the WPSL All-Big Sky Conference Team after wrapping up a successful summer season with Fort Worth F.C.

Additionally, freshman Taylor Heatherly was named to the ESPN RISE Spring All-America second team. The defender from Naperville, Ill., will look to have an immediate impact on the Bears' back line this fall.
