OVERLAND Park, Kan. - Three Baylor soccer players were crowned 2010 US Youth Soccer National Champions, Sunday at the Overland Park Soccer Complex, in Overland Park, Kan. Caitlin Fennegan, Michelle Hagen and Brittany Hunemuller helped guide the Under-19 Lonestars `91 Red to a 2-1 (4-2 PK), penalty-kick victory over Eclipse Elite (Ill.).

"It just feels awesome to win our first national championship," Hunemuller said. "It was a complete team effort and it was so much fun for us as Baylor teammates to continue to play with each other at such a highly competitive level."

The Lonestars avenged an earlier loss to the Eclipse, after falling 2-0 earlier in the week during round-robin play. The top two team in the four-team bracket advanced to the title game, where Lonestars won the shootout.

The trio join Christine Clark (2009, Colorado Rush) and Lisa Sliwinski (2008, Dallas Texans 91 Red) on the list of current Baylor soccer players who have won a USYS National Championship.
