STANFORD, Calif. - Baylor's Erin Bedell led the track and field distance crew with a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Stanford Invitational on Friday evening.

Bedell, the current school record holder in the event, finished the race in a time of 10:03.81. Also for the women, Nichole Jones and Stephanie Morgan placed 11th and 12th in Section 2 of the 1,500 meters. Jones finished in a time of 4:32.31, while Morgan crossed the line in 4:37.22.

Leigh Ann Ganzar placed 14th in Section 4 of the 1,500 with a time of 4:44.52, while Kristen Hanselka placed 18 in Section 3 of the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:49.41.

For the men, Ben Haby and Gavyn Nero each placed 11th in their respective sections of the 1,500 meters. Nero was in Section 1 and finished with a time of 3:54.36, while Haby was in Section 3 and finished in 3:52.28.

The rest of the Bears will be in action tomorrow at Rice's Victory Lopez Classic in Houston, Texas. On Saturday, throwing events will start at 8 a.m., while events on the track kick off at noon. Heat sheets, events schedule and live results can be found at www.cfpitiming.com or www.BaylorBears.com.
