The No. 7 Baylor equestrian team (6-7) fell to Georgia 13-6 Sunday afternoon at the UGA Equestrian Center in Bishop, Ga.
The Bears got off to a rough start, losing Equitation on the Flat 5-0.
Baylor attempted a comeback in Equitation over Fences where they tied the Bulldogs 2-2. Lisa Goldman's score of 86 was enough to earn her MVP honors. Taylor Brown also scored for the Bears and resulted in Baylor having a 7-2 disadvantage through half of the events.
Georgia continued to widen their lead, winning Horsemanship 4-1. Megan Murphy scored Baylor's single point.
Baylor attempted a late comeback winning Reining 3-2. Katie Buss, Amber Mooney and Madelyn Mooney each scored points for the Bears. Madelyn Mooney's 76.5-74 victory earned her MVP honors. Despite the attempted comeback, the Bears fell short of the Bulldogs 13-6.
The Bears will next be in action at home on Friday, March 5 at 12:30 p.m. as they take on Oklahoma State.
