STORY LINES
• No. 11 Baylor, 17-6 on the season and 4-5 in league play, seeks its second Big 12 road win as it travels to Ames, Iowa, to play the No. 20 Iowa State Cyclones, Sat., Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. The game will be broadcast nationally by FOX Sports Network.
• The 20th-ranked Cyclones are 18-4 overall and 6-3 in Big 12 action. The Cyclones are coming off Sunday's 65-39 win at Missouri.
• The contest with Iowa State marks Baylor's third game facing a league team with a bye before playing the Lady Bears, as Texas and Colorado also had byes before playing BU. In two of those games (Colorado and ISU), the Lady Bears are coming off a road game.
• BU freshmen are gaining valuable minutes this season and producing points. On the season, BU's rookies account for 42.7 percent (1974-4625) of the minutes played and 50.8 percent (880-1733) of the team's points.
• As a team, Baylor ranks No. 1 nationally in blocks per game (7.7); No. 2 in field goal percentage (.492) and field goal percentage defense (31.9); No. 4 in scoring margin (21.2); No. 5 in rebound margin (10.8) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (25.7); No. 17 in scoring defense (54.9) and No. 19 in scoring offense (76.0).
• In 10 seasons under head coach Kim Mulkey, Baylor is 254-72 (.779), which ranks her No. 4 nationally in winning percentage. In addition, the Lady Bear program ranks No. 6 among the NCAA Division I's winningest teams over that span.
Brittney Griner blocks more shots per game (6.3) than 325 of the 332 NCAA €ˆDivision I schools and only seven teams beside Baylor have blocked more shots than Griner. She ranks No. 2 nationally in blocks (144) and in just 21 games, broke Courtney Paris' Big 12 single-season record of 119 set during the Sooners' 36-game 2005-06 campaign.
• Griner, with 144 blocks, needs just 16 blocks to move into No. 2 on Baylor's all-time shot block list. Former standout Steffanie Blackmon currently holds that spot with 159 while BU's all-time leading shot blocker, Danielle Wilson, accumulated 249 in three seasons.
• Griner recorded the program's first-ever triple-double with 34 points, 13 rebounds and 11 blocked shots against Oral Roberts, she added her second and third of the season against Colorado (26 pts., 11 blocks, 10 reb.) and Oklahoma (17 pts., 11 blocks, 10 reb.).
• Griner is the only player in the Big 12 Conference to record three triple-doubles this season. Griner and former Kansas State standout Shalee Lehning are the only two players to produce three triple-doubles in a season, as Lehning tallied three in 2009.
• Griner was named both the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week by a media voting panel for games from Feb. 1-7. She is the second freshman in league history to pick up both awards in the same week.
• The Lady Bears remain the Big 12 leader in field goal percentage (.484), field goal percentage defense (.320), rebounding offense (44.3), and blocked shots (7.9). BU ranks No. 2 in rebound margin (+9.6) behind Iowa State's +10.0.
• Iowa State is the league's top 3-point shooting team at 41.2 percent, while Baylor is the Big 12's second-best 3-point defender, limiting its opponents to 25.9 percent from behind the arc.
• Baylor and Iowa State rank No. 1 and 2, respectively, in the league in field goal percentage defense; BU limits its opponents to 32.0 percent while ISU allows only 35.8 percent.
• Missing MJ - Baylor's record with Melissa Jones in the lineup, 14-2, without MJ, 3-4.
• BU freshman post Brittney Griner became just the seventh female to dunk in a regular-season NCAA contest when she threw one down against Jacksonville State, Nov. 24. Griner added two more dunks to her total against Texas State (Jan. 2) and registered another at Kansas State (Feb. 3). She is also a defensive threat as a shot blocker and alterer with her 88" wing span. She has blocked a school and Big 12 record 144 shots and altered 58 more.
• Two Baylor players have earned Big 12 honors this season. Brittney Griner has been named Big 12 Freshman of the Week six times for her performances from Nov. 23-29, Dec. 7-13, Dec. 14-21, Dec. 22-Jan. 3, Jan. 11-18 and Feb. 1-7 while Shanay Washington was the Nov. 16-22 honoree. TRIPLE-DOUBLES
Brittney Griner etched her name in the Baylor record books when she produced the program's first triple-double on Dec. 16 against Oral Roberts. The 6-8 post poured in a career-high 34 points, blocked a career-high 11 shots and hauled down 13 rebounds in Baylor's 101-76 victory.

In that same game, Melissa Jones narrowly missed a triple-double, ending with 15 points, nine rebounds and nine steals.

Griner is one of two NCAA Division I players to produce three triple-doubles this season. St. Mary's (Calif.) junior Louella Tomlinson also has three. Overall, only 20 players have registered a triple-double this season.
