Men's Hoops Cracks Both AP, Coaches Polls Monday

WACO, Texas - After starting the season 13-1, Baylor men's basketball team debuted at No. 22 and No. 24 in the latest Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Top 25 Polls, respectively, Monday.

Baylor (13-1, 1-0 Big 12) is ranked simultaneously in both polls for only the seventh week in program history. Last season, the Bears were ranked a school-record seven straight weeks in the AP Top 25 and a school-best six straight weeks in the Coaches Top 25. The Bears have now been ranked in 10 AP and seven Coaches polls under seventh-year head coach Scott Drew.

Baylor, Miami (Fla.) and Clemson each made their debut in this week's AP Top 25 Poll, coming in at No. 22, No. 23 and No. 24, respectively. The Bears received 301 points in the AP Poll and ranked behind No. 21 Mississippi, which received 326 points this week.

The Bears received 66 points in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, 24 points behind No. 23 Mississippi and one point ahead of No. 25 Florida State.

The 22nd-ranked Baylor Bears will defend their nine-game win streak and national rankings Tuesday against the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder, Colo. Tuesday's game will tip at 8 p.m. CST and will be televised statewide on FOX Sports Plus.
