Baylor (2-0) picked up a pair of wins, defeating Miami (Ohio) 15-1 and TCU 8-7, to take the Willis Invitational title for the second-straight season. Torrential rainfall caused the two-day event to be moved indoors.

"I was so impressed with how the team and horses responded this weekend," head coach Ellen White said. "We have a lot of depth, and we haven't even shown the freshmen yet. This was a terrific way to get the season started."

Baylor continued its dominance over Miami (Ohio) in Equitation over Fences, scoring a 3-1 victory in the morning's first event. BU's Brooke Biddle took MVP with an 82-68 win over Madison Smith, while Amanda Miller picked up a 79-60 win against Alex Hollern. Katie Ross earned the third point, defeating Jessica Yeager, 72-70. Miami's lone point came with a 59-50 over Abby McCormick.

The Bears wrapped up their win over Miami with a 4-0 victory in Reining led by Madelyn Mooney's MVP score of 70.5. Amber Mooney defeated Mallory Hill, who scratched, with a 70. Katie Buss picked up a 69.5-63 win against Leslie Coen. Finally, Cody Wooten took a 67-64.5 victory over Alexa Mainella.

The Bears started off with a 3-1 victory over the Horned Frogs in Equitation over Fences, as Heather Healy won MVP honors with a 75-73 win over Tassie Munroe. Kara Fergusson took a 69-64 win against Victoria Lee, while Kendra Vicary scored a team-high 79 points in her win over Callie Selchau. TCU scored its point with a 74-70 victory by Tayler Frederick.

Baylor picked up another 3-1 win in Equitation on the Flats, as Mary Smitson picked up MVP honors with a 91-86 win. Heather Healy recorded an 84-76 win, while Faith Morris squeaked out a close 74-73 win. TCU earned its point with an 84-78 win by Tassie Munroe.

The Bears got a 2-1 win in Horsemanship to put away the win, picking up points from Allison Orosz and Lindsay Douglas. That gave Baylor an 8-3 lead, and even though TCU picked up all four points in Reining, the Bears came away with the 8-7 win.

The four MVP's were Baylor's Amanda Miller (Fences), Andrea Schweiker (Flat), Meghan Murphy (Horsemanship) and TCU's Ashton Mickunas (Reining).

Baylor will be back in action on Oct. 16 at Oklahoma State.
