EUGENE, Ore. - Baylor All-American Erin Bedell qualified for the 3000-meter steeplechase finals during the second day of the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field. Bedell tallied a time of 10:06.87 to take eighth in her heat and pick up the final qualifying spot for Sunday's finals.
Also qualifying for the finals in his respective race was former Baylor star Darold Williamson. Williamson qualified for the 400-meter finals with a time of 45.97, finishing second in his heat and fourth overall. The 400m finals will be held Saturday at 8:02 p.m. CDT.
Reggie Witherspoon finished 16th overall in the 400m semfinals with a time of 46.88, failing to qualify for the finals.
Jerome Miller qualified for the semifinals of the 110m hurdles, finishing second in his heat at 13.44. Miller will look to advance to the finals Saturday at 5:40 p.m. CDT. In the first round of the 400m hurdles, Justin Boyd was the only compete that did not finish.
On the women's side, Baylor All-American Tiffany Townsend finished 15th overall in the 100m semifinals with a time of 11.57. Sanya Richards qualified for the 400m finals, recording the fatest time at 50.96.
Also competing Friday was current Baylor distance runner Danielle Bradley. Bradley, a junior from West Palm Beach, Fla., finished 23rd overall in the 3000-meter steeplechase, clocking in at 10:31.56.
Day three of the four-day USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. CDT.
