TOLEDO, Ohio - Thunderstorms rolled through Northwest Ohio and delayed the 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships for nearly five hours, leaving second round incomplete Wednesday evening. Baylor men's golf sophomore Cody Paladino is tied for 119th overall and is 10-over through nine holes.
The second round will resume at 5:45 a.m. CDT Thursday with the third round tentatively scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CDT.
Only 15 schools were able to complete their rounds as top-seeded Oklahoma State is clinging to a five-stroke lead over the 30-team field with an even-par 568. Georgia, which was the co-leader after the first round, is in second with a 5-over 573, followed by Texas A&M in third with a 6-over 574.
Georgia's Russell Henley and N.C. State's Matt Hill share the individual lead of players who have completed their rounds at 4-under 138.
Paladino pared out the opening four holes to begin his second round. A day after a birdie on the par-4 No. 5 hole, he carded a triple-bogey which pushed him to 8-over midway through the front nine. Paladino saved par on the par-3 No. 6 before back-to-back bogeys on No. 7 and No. 8 to finish his day at 10-over par.
