NO. 2/2 OKLAHOMA (24-1, 10-0) 78, BAYLOR (15-9, 3-7) 63
FERRELL CENTER - WACO, TEXAS
FEB. 11, 2009 - ATTENDANCE: 8,094

Head Coach Scott Drew
On the game:
"I thought we played hard and I thought we competed. Credit OU for making the big plays, especially down the stretch, especially with Austin Johnson at the top of the key; that really hurt us. We didn't take advantage of some one-on-one's, some free throw opportunities and down the stretch got us. I liked the rotation and I liked our energy level. We were even on the boards with them and we only had 11 turnovers. Obviously you like more assists but at the end of the day you have to make some shots and uncharacteristically we shot 19 percent from the 3-point line. Some of them were contested but some of them are looks that we have to make."

Senior Guard Curtis Jerrells
On the game and adjustments made from the game in Norman:
"In that game we tried new things that we weren't comfortable with and this time coach just said `we are going to score and we are going to go out there and play better defense. That is what you saw. Blake (Griffin) and Willie (Warren) had to work. We guarded well and we had offensive rebounds, but those guys just had got a couple of more loose balls. They hit some crazy and tough shots."

Senior Forward Kevin Rogers
On containing Blake Griffin:
"We just wanted to limit his touches a little bit and we were just going to take our chances with one-on-one. For the most part I think we did a pretty good job. They run so much stuff for him and he is such a great player that he is going to find ways to get the ball. Credit the other guys on the team for getting it to him."

Oklahoma Head Coach Jeff Capel
Opening Statement:
"I am really proud of this win. We beat a good basketball team. I know they have been struggling a little bit, but they are a very talented team. We knew we were going to get a great shot from them. I thought they played with a little more energy than they have and what I have seen on tape. I am really proud of our guys, we made plays... Guys stepped up when they made runs."

Sophomore Forward Blake Griffin
On the win:
"We played under control the whole game, and that is important on the road. Guys hit big shots, everybody stepped up and everybody played well.

Senior Guard Austin Johnson
On Baylor's run:
"We knew playing them; they were going to have some runs against us. On offense they are a great team with the ball, so we knew they were going to make a run. I thought during that run they hit some shots and we kind of got stagnate on defense. We knew it was coming, so we just kept playing and fought through it."
