STORY LINES
• Baylor will play its fifth consecutive home game when it hosts Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Dec. 5.
• Three Lady Bears are averaging double-digit scoring. Freshman post Brittney Griner leads the team with 15.1 points a game while junior guard Melissa Jones tallies 14.1 and senior Morghan Medlock is averaging 12.3 points.
• There will be numerous Louisiana Tech-Baylor connections on the floor on Saturday. Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey played four years at Louisiana Tech and coached there for 15 seasons prior to coming to Baylor. BU assistant Leon Barmore was the Lady Techster's head coach for 20 seasons, and current Louisiana Tech head coach Teresa Weatherspoon played for both Barmore and Mulkey there.
• BU freshman post Brittney Griner become just the seventh female to dunk in a regular-season NCAA contest when she threw one down against Jacksonville State on Nov. 24. She is also a defensive threat as a shot blocker with her 88" wing span.
• In 10 seasons under head coach Kim Mulkey, Baylor is 243-67 (.784), which ranks her No. 4 nationally in winning percentage. In addition, the Lady Bear program ranks No. 6 among the NCAA Division I's winningest teams over that span.
Brittney Griner was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week for her performances from Nov. 23-29.
Melissa Jones, Brittney Griner and Morghan Medlock combine for 24.3 (49.7%) of BU's 48.9 rebounds a game.
• Baylor's five starters, Kelli Griffin, Shanay Washington, Melissa Jones, Morghan Medlock and Brittney Griner are shooting a combined 53.2 percent (141-265) from the floor.
• As a team, Baylor ranks among the top 50 in NCAA Division I statistics in 12 categories.

FRESHMEN PRODUCING
All five of the team's freshmen are averaging 4.6 or more points a game. Brittney Griner leads the rookies with 15.1 a contest, Shanay Washington averages 8.9 points, Jordan Madden manages 7.1 a game, Kimetria Hayden scores 7.3 an outing and Mariah Chandler follows with 4.6 a contest.

All five average 9.9 or more minutes an outing, and two, Griner and Washington are in the starting lineup.

CAN WE BE OF ASSISTANCE
Baylor players are dishing it out this season. In its seven games, Baylor has collected assists on 135 of the team's 220 field goals made which accounts for assists on 61.4 percent of its shots.

Nine of Baylor's 12 active players have dished out five or more assists on the season. Point guard Kelli Griffin leads the squad with 40, followed by Melissa Jones' 24. Off the bench, Terran Condrey has delivered 14 assists while Morghan Medlock follows with 10.

REBOUNDING EXCELLENCE
Baylor has outrebounded its opponent in six of seven games this year and is averaging a Big 12 Conference-leading 48.9 a game.

Senior forward Morghan Medlock (9.3 rpg), freshman post Brittney Griner (8.4 rpg) and junior guard Melissa Jones (6.6 rpg) are Baylor's top rebounders and combine to average 24.3 rebounds a game which equates to 49.7 percent of the squad's boards. The trio ranks No. 4, No. 5 and No. 18, respectively, among the Big 12 leaders.

HOTSHOTS
Baylor's five starters, Kelli Griffin, Shanay Washington, Melissa Jones, Morghan Medlock and Brittney Griner, are shooting a combined 53.2 percent (141-265) from the floor.

In fact, seven Lady Bears who average over 14 minutes a game are shooting above 45 percent. Ashley Field is shooting an impressive .781 (28-39), followed by Shanay Washington at .596 (28-47), Melissa Jones with .576 (34-59), Morghan Medlock at .517 (31-60), Jordan Madden (17-34) and Brittney Griner (32-64) both shoot .500 and Kelli Griffin manages .457 (16-35).
