No. 2 Baylor (2-1) suffered its first loss of the season, dropping a 14-9 decision to No. 6 Oklahoma State (2-1) at the OSU Equestrian Center.
"We rode well and we did a very good job," head coach Ellen White. "It was the first time away from home for the freshmen and they were a little hesitant. But we rode very well and we will be ready for tomorrow."
The two teams were tied 3-3 after Equitation on the Flat, as Mary Smitson, Kim Woodsum and Faith Morris all picked up wins for the Bears.
Equitation over Fences found the same result, with the two teams each winning an even number, as the match was tied 6-6. Lisa Goldman, Heather Healy and Kara Ferguson all notched points for BU.
OSU pulled away in Horsemanship, recording a 4-1 victory to take the lead. Lindsey Tomko picked up the lone point for Baylor, a 72.5-71 win.
Baylor made a comeback attempt in Reining, as Maddy Mooney and Katie Buss picked up back-to-back wins, but OSU pulled away 4-2, and winning 14-9.
Baylor will be back in action on Saturday morning to take on Kansas State at 9:00 a.m.
