GAME NIGHT STORY LINES
• The 23rd-ranked Baylor Bears conclude their seven-game homestand Saturday against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Big 12 opener for both schools. Tip-off is set for 12:45 p.m. at the Ferrell Center on the Big 12 Network.
• Saturday is the first of all 16 Baylor Big 12 games to be televised this season.
• Baylor has now been ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll for a school-record six-consecutive weeks - one week more than Baylor had been ranked in its 102-year history entering the season.
• Baylor is 8-4 all-time when ranked in the AP Top 25 - 6-1 this season.
• For the first time in school history, Baylor is nationally ranked entering conference play.
• Baylor is 4-8 in Big 12 Conference openers and 1-4 under sixth-year head coach Scott Drew. Baylor snapped its five-game losing streak in Big 12 openers last season vs. Iowa State.
• In five-plus seasons under head coach Scott Drew, Baylor is 21-59 in the Big 12.
• Baylor has made at least one 3-point field goal in 526 straight games - the second-longest active streak in the Big 12 (Texas, 596). Baylor has connected from 3-point range at least once in every game since going 0-for-8 in a home win vs. Texas Tech on Feb. 21, 1990.
LaceDarius Dunn currently owns a streak of 19 consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer made - the third-longest streak at Baylor. He is 10 games shy of tying Tevis Stukes' mark of 29 straight games set during the 1999-2000 season.
Curtis Jerrells needs 18 assists to become only the second player in school history with 1,000 points, 400 assists and 100 steals.
Kevin Rogers is 29 rebounds shy of becoming the seventh player in school history with 1,000 points and 700 rebounds.
• 80 of Mamadou Diene's 130 career blocks have come in 45 Big 12 games - he is one block away from moving into the career top 10 for blocked shots for Big 12 games.
• Seniors Curtis Jerrells (1,419), Henry Dugat (1,054) and Kevin Rogers (1,050) currently ranked 6th, 17th and 19th, respectively, on the school's career scoring list.

SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday marks the Big 12 opener for both schools and the 117th meeting in the series.
• Texas Tech leads the all-time series 73-43, while BU holds a 28-25 series advantage in Waco.
• Baylor has won 4 of the last 5 meetings (4-6 under head coach Scott Drew) and the last three at the Ferrell Center.

TEXAS TECH SCOUTING REPORT
• Texas Tech (10-5) opens Big 12 Conference play searching for its first true road win of the season Saturday when the Red Raiders visit the Ferrell Center.
• The Red Raiders are 1-4 away from the United Spirit Arena, with road losses at Lamar, UTEP and Stanford. Texas Tech lost to current No. 1 Pitt and defeated Mississippi State in Newark, N.J., on a neutral floor.
• Offensively, Texas Tech is paced by John Roberson and Alan Voskuil, who averaging 14.9 and 14.5 points through 15 games, respectively.
• Texas Tech has not won in Waco since March 2, 2005, under former head coach Bob Knight.
• Current Texas Tech head coach Pat Knight made his head coaching debut last season at the Ferrell Center, falling to the Bears 80-74 on Feb. 6, 2008.

LAST TIME VS. TEXAS TECH - MARCH 8, 2008
LaceDarius Dunn scored a career-high 38 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead Baylor past Texas Tech 86-73.
• Baylor finished near its Big 12-leading average with eight 3-pointers on 19 attempts, led by 6-of-9 shooting from Dunn.
• The Bears trailed by a point at halftime but started taking control with a 16-6 run in the first 6 minutes of the second half for a 52-43 lead. Dunn was 4-of-4 on 3-pointers during the run.
• Baylor later scored seven points in less than a minute, capped by another 3 by Dunn to push him past his previous career high of 27 against Brown in January, when he hit seven 3-pointers. The 7 points were part of a 10-2 run that put BU ahead 66-54 with 8:12 remaining.
• Baylor went up 78-63 on a dunk by Kevin Rogers with just more than 3 minutes remaining, and Tech had no more answers after that.
• Dunn was also hot from the line. He missed only one of his 13 free throws. Tweety Carter scored 16 points and Kevin Rogers added 10 for the Bears.
• Martin Zeno scored 27 and John Roberson added 25 to lead Tech. Alan Voskuil, who came into the game leading the conference in 3-pointers and averaging 13.3 points, was held scoreless.

LAST TIME OUT - SOUTH CAROLINA 85, (19) BAYLOR 84
• Zam Fredrick hit a go-ahead layup with 5.1 seconds left and South Carolina rallied for an 85-84 victory over No. 19 Baylor.
• Devan Downey led the Gamecocks (10-2) with 23 points. Fredrick scored 19, Mike Holmes had 11 points and Dominique Archie and Brandis Raley-Ross scored 10 each.
Curtis Jerrells scored a team-high 22 for the Bears. Kevin Rogers notched his 20th career double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Tweety Carter scored a season-high 18, while Henry Dugat added 16.
• Baylor cut the lead to one on Rogers' tip-in with 32.5 seconds to play. After a Bears timeout, South Carolina's Evaldas Baniulis was called for traveling on the inbounds play.
• On Baylor's next possession, LaceDarius Dunn rebounded Carter's missed jumper and was fouled by Holmes. Dunn made both free throws for an 84-83 Baylor lead with 12.9 seconds left. After a South Carolina timeout with 8.6 seconds remaining, Fredrick got free inside for a layup to put the Gamecocks up for good.

UP NEXT - TEXAS A&M (JAN. 14)
• Baylor returns to College Station for the first time since its epic 116-110 five-overtime triumph last season when the Bears visit the Texas A&M Aggies on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Reed Arena. Baylor is just 28-72 all-time at Texas A&M; the Bears are 2-3 at A&M under head coach Scott Drew.
• Terry Gannon (pxp) and Stephen Bardo (color) will serve as the talent for Wednesday's telecast at Reed Arena.

THE 2008-09 BIG 12 NETWORK TELEVISION PACKAGE
• This season for the first time, regionally syndicated games will be televised on the Big 12 Network as part of the conference's agreement with ESPN Regional Television.
• The games, previously branded as ESPN Plus, are broadcast throughout the conference's geographic footprint. Many of the Big 12 Network games will also be available as part of ESPN Full Court, the pay subscription college basketball outer-market service. In addition, numerous games will be available 72 hours after completion via the newly-designed Big 12 web site at Big12Sports.com. A listing of stations carrying Baylor's Big 12 Network games will be available each week on BaylorBears.com.
• Saturday's game will be televised live in Central Texas on Big 12 Network affiliates KWTX and The CW (KBTX).
• The game will be carried live out-of-state as part of the ESPN Full Court paid subscription package and ESPN360.com.

DOU'S BLOCK PARTY
• Senior center Mamadou Diene has blocked 130 shots in 82 career games and 80 in 45 Big 12 Conference games. Diene's next blocked shot in conference play will move him into the career top 10 list for conference-only games.
• Diene is 30 blocked shots shy of moving into the Big 12 career top 10 for all games.

DEFENDING ITS HOME COURT
• Baylor's 85-84 heartbreaking loss to South Carolina on Saturday, Jan. 2 snapped the Bears' nine-game home court winning streak - the second-longest streak in Ferrell Center history.
• The nine-game streak to start the season is the second-longest in Ferrell Center history (10, 2000-01) and one win shy of tying the Ferrell Center record for consecutive wins (10, 2000-01).
• Baylor owns a 32-5 home non-conference record since the 2004-05 season.

BAYLOR'S BIG 12 OPENERS
• Baylor is 4-8 in Big 12 Conference openers and 1-4 under sixth-year head coach Scott Drew. Baylor snapped its five-game losing streak in Big 12 openers last season vs. Iowa State.

JERRELLS' A DOUBLE-DOUBLE MAN
• Entering his senior season, 2008 Preseason All-Big 12 guard Curtis Jerrells had never recorded a double-double in 80 career games at Baylor. In 14 games this season, Jerrells has recorded two double-doubles as well as a triple-double.
• Prior to this season, Jerrells had reached double digits in rebounds once and never in assists.
• In the season opener, Jerrells poured in 17 points with 10 rebounds in a rout of Paul Quinn on Nov. 15.
• On Dec. 22, Jerrells recorded just the fourth triple-double in school history, scoring 17 points with career highs in rebounds (11) and assists (10) in a win vs. Hartford.
• In the first game of the new year, CJ scored a team-high 22 points with a career-high-tying 10 assists in a loss to South Carolina on Jan. 2.

CONSECUTIVE GAMES WITH A 3-POINTER STREAK
