The Baylor soccer team will be on the road for the second-straight game as the Bears (0-1-0) face New Mexico (0-1-1) at 8 p.m. CDT on Friday in Albuquerque, N.M. Baylor will face Presbyterian (0-1-0) in its home opener on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Baylor will be facing the Lobos and Blue Hose for the first time in program history.
The Bears are coming off a 1-0 loss at UTEP and will be looking to snap a three game road losing streak that dates back to 2007. Baylor's last road win came with a 4-0 blasting at Nebraska on Oct. 19.
"I think we learned a lot from our first game," head coach Marci Jobson said. "We have to take those things, apply them and get better."
The game against the Lobos will be a homecoming for a pair of Bears as junior goalkeeper Gianna and sophomore midfielder Lucy Quintana make their first trip back home to Albuquerque. The sister duo each graduated from St. Pius X in Albuquerque.
New Mexico enters the contest after being downed 3-1 by Denver on Aug. 22 and tying with Northern Arizona, 1-1 on Aug. 24. Senior Hannah Hand leads the team with one goal and an assist.
Presbyterian enters Sunday's contest fresh off a 3-0 loss to Clemson on Aug. 27. Junior goalkeeper Abby Young made a career-high 15 saves in the loss to the Tigers.
