WACO, Texas - Erin Bedell and Danielle Bradley have been selected cross country team captains for the 2008 season, head coach Todd Harbour announced. Baylor opens the season on Friday as the Bears host the Baylor Twilight.

Last season, Baylor finished third in the South Central Regional, earning their fifth-straight trip to the NCAA Championships. The Lady Bears finished 17th at the national meet, the highest finish among Big 12 schools.

The 17th-place finish marks the fourth-highest finish for a Baylor squad in program history, as Baylor received one of the final at-large berths into the championships.

Lauren Hagans finished as Baylor's fourth-ever individual All-American with a 35th-place finish.

Baylor opens the season on Friday evening as the Bears host the Baylor Twilight at 6:30 p.m. Baylor will also host the NCAA South Central Regional on Nov. 15.
