ADELAIDE, Australia - Former Baylor standout Aaron Bruce will have a chance to continue his dream of playing professional basketball after signing a two-year contract with the Adelaide 36ers of the National Basketball League in his native Australia.

Bruce finished his stellar college career as the seventh-leading scorer in Baylor history with 1,330 points. Last season, Bruce helped guide the Bears to just their fourth 20-win season in school history and their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1987-88.

He was a three-time All-Big 12 selection, including third team honors as a freshman in 2005. Bruce, who led the nation's freshman in scoring in 2004-05, was also named Big 12 Freshman of the Year by the Kansas City Star and San Antonio Express-News that same season.

Bruce is a veteran of several Australian national teams that included representing the Australian Boomers at the 2006 FIBA World Championships in Japan.

Australia's National Basketball League (NBL) was formed in 1979 with nine teams. The 13-team league's season runs between October and April. For more information on the NBL, you can visit the official website at www.nbl.com.au.
