The Baylor soccer team will host its Play For Hope Tournament on Saturday, April 12 with three games that day. The Bears will face Trinity at 9 a.m., TCU at 11 a.m. and Texas State at 3 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Field in Waco.
"This weekend is our last chance to play some games this spring, and so it will be a great opportunity for our girls to continue the great strides we have made thus far," head coach Marci Jobson said.
Following the last game, the team will hold a clinic (boys and girls) from 4:30-6 p.m. with all proceeds going to the nonprofit DiscoverHope Fund, a service to create sustainability and opportunity for women in poverty.
"Our girls are very passionate about this charity and have really bought into it," Jobson said. "This is a great chance to combine a great sport like soccer with a great cause."
The preferred cost of the clinic is $20, but it is not a mandatory fee, and all proceeds go directly to Discover Hope. Additional donations will be accepted at the games and the clinic. There will also be a raffle for $5 a ticket to win a USA Women's national Team jersey and other prizes.
To register for the clinic please send participants name, age, phone number, and address to playforhope@gmail.com or call 254-710-3092. You can also find more information on other Baylor soccer camps at www.baylor.edu/soccercamp.
