The Baylor football team completed its 13th spring workout Thursday afternoon with a two-hour practice on the grass fields at Floyd Casey Stadium.
"It was a productive day," said Baylor head coach Art Briles. "We fought through a few things and had to face a little adversity early with the weather and then it got a little humid.
"So, we got to see our guys in some adverse conditions, which is what you want," he added. "You really don't learn about somebody until you go through some adverse times with them. What we are looking for and what we have to have as a football team is a bunch of tough guys who know how to fight. We've got some of those (guys) out here and that's what we have to hang our hat on. When people player Baylor, they need to say that is a tough football team. That's what are going to hang our hat on."
The Bears will return to practice Friday afternoon with a short workout in helmets and t-shirts on the Floyd Casey Stadium turf in preparation for Saturday's 2 p.m. scrimmage.
"We are still trying to find the right place for the right people in our offensive schemes," Briles said. "We want to execute and look productive on the field, both sides of the ball (Saturday)."
