WACO, Texas - Lady Bear Angela Tisdale is one of approximately 40 basketball players selected to attend the WNBA's Pre-Draft camp which begins on Friday, April 4.
The 2008 WNBA Draft will be held in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday, April 9, as a conclusion to the week-long celebration of events surrounding women's basketball. The draft will begin at 1 p.m. and be televised live on ESPN2.
The WNBA's Pre-Draft-Camp will include three sessions over a two-day period. The sessions will offer WNBA coaches and general managers an opportunity to evaluate the skills of approximately 40 top global prospects. Players will participate in on-court sessions and compete against one another in hopes of improving their draft status. All Pre-Draft Camp sessions will be held at the Bob Martinez Center at the University of Tampa.
Tisdale, a 5-7 senior point guard, averaged a team-leading 16.4 points a game in her final season at Baylor. She also led the team in free throw percentage (.811) and assists (107). The Austin, Texas, native's free throw percentage led the Big 12 Conference and she was the league's fifth-ranked scorer. Tisdale finished her Baylor career as the program's assist leader with 493 and ranks No. 13 on the all-time scoring list with 1,373. She was a Wooden Award and State Farm/WBCA All-America finalist as well as earning All-Big 12 first-team and State Farm/WBCA All-Region recognition.
