Timeout with Kevin Rogers
Men's Basketball
Junior
What has been the most positive thing for the team this year?
Just to stay humble. I think a lot of people with the success that they have their heads get a little big and they think they are better than what they really are. I think this team has done a good job of staying humble.
How has the team responded to the veteran leadership?
I think we are able to close out close games now. I know that in the past we were in close games, but we weren't able to finish. I think this year with the experience and the different types of talent that we have we are able to close the games out.
What has helped this team to a great start?
The experience and the different types of talent has helped with our start. I think that the hard work we put in during the off season and the loss from last year made us hungry and want to come into this season and finally succeed. Cancun was definitely a big help. Going to Cancun and playing against the pro teams and us finding out who we really are has helped us.
What has been your most memorable moment of the season?
The Texas]A&M game was my most memorable game. That was just a great game to be a part of and a great game to watch. That was definitely my biggest moment because you had two teams that just refused to quit. Unfortunately one of the teams had to lose, but fortunately for us, we won.
How has the buzz on campus helped the team?
Having a great fan base and fan support is always a good thing for the home team. You always like to see the faces in the crowd and the people that are coming out there to support you, that is definitely a big motivation for us and it gives us a big boost with the competitive teams that are coming in here to play.
