BAYLOR 68 - COLORADO 57
Boulder, Colo. - Feb. 27, 2008

POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew
"We lost a lot of games in a row, so for motivation with each win we shave a head. Tonight it was Coach Tang's turn. We played great defensively, taking away the back door shots and taking away the three point shots. This was a huge win tonight--every win in the Big 12 is a huge win. It starts with experienced players and teams. We've been on the losing end of the floor, we just needed more experience and more maturity."

ON CURRENT SUCCESS-- "We haven't looked too far ahead, we always look to the next game."

Colorado Head Coach Jeff Bzdelik
"The game is really hard when you can't make enough shots. That has been our Achilles Heel all year, from an offensive standpoint we just don't have enough fire power. It especially hurts us against a team like Baylor who has a lot of fire power. We did a good job defensively, they lead the conference in scoring. I thought we did a good job on their leading scorer, Curtis Jerrells, but (Henry) Dugat and (Kevin) Rogers hurt us. With a team like that it is hard to keep everyone down. I am really proud of our effort tonight."

ON TEAM MORALE--"I said the other day that our back may be broken but our spirit isn't. I'm very proud of our young men, they hustled until the end. They just kept battling and scrapping all night. We had some open shots that we didn't make and in the end the sun is going to come up tomorrow and we'll go back to work. We're going to strap it on Saturday and go to work. I am very proud to be coaching this team."

ON DEFENSIVE ADJUSTMENTS--"Nothing really, we made a few changes at half time but nothing major. We were blitzing the ball screens and in the first half we were a little slow getting out on our men. We can say a lot because we held them to 68 points and they got a few late because of free throws. In the second half we missed a few shots that rimmed out and would have brought the game to single digits at the time. The senior leadership on this team with Richard (Roby), Marcus (King-Stockton) and Marcus (Hall) is amazing; they keep battling to the end. And that is a testament to who they are."

ON LEVI KNUTSON--"Levi has always had confidence, that has never been the issue. There may have been a stretch where he struggled a little but I have confidence in all of my players. Again, you're looking at a freshman and this is only his 27th game. I know about a week ago we had the 33rd highest strength of schedule so we're playing tough teams."

ON MARCUS HALL--"Marcus didn't have one of his best shooting games, I think we can all say that. But he contributed with seven assists, three blocks, three rebounds, no turnovers and a steal. That is a winner right there. Anyone who knows anything about basketball knows he is a good player."

ON WHERE THEY GO FROM HERE--"Saturday I'm going to strap it on at 4:02 and get going. I'm excited and we're going to get to work preparing for Iowa State. That is what we're all about, we're going to go to work tomorrow and continue to get better."

Richard Roby
ON COACH BZDELICK HAVING CONFIDENCE IN THE SENIORS - "It means a lot to me, and Marcus (Hall); for him to still have confidence and believe in us is, and not be down on us, even though we haven't won a lot of ball games this year, means a lot. It is our last home game on Saturday, and it's important for us to try and go out with a win and give it everything we've got."

Marcus Hall
ON POOR SHOOTING AGAINST BAYLOR - "Not too many times are Richard [Roby] and I going to go a combined nine for 30 from the field. As a team we can't afford to shoot like that and we know that on Saturday we have to step it up. If we played Baylor again, and played the same defense that we did tonight, I think we'll be alright."

ON HIS MOTIVATION TO CONTINUE PLAYING - "My motivation to play comes from the heart. I love to play this game and I realize that I don't have too many chances to play in a Colorado uniform anymore. I want to be remembered for something, so we're going to fight to the end, and hopefully people remember us for that.

ON HOW HE WILL BE REMEMBERED"I love to play basketball. I'm going to do it as hard as I can, and give it my all whenever I'm out there. Hopefully the team can follow my example since I am out front; and as a team we try to play for 40 minutes, despite if we're up by 20 or down by 20. All we can do is fight at this point, and I think all of us are realizing that."

Levi Knutson
ON FEELING MORE COMFORTABLE ON THE FLOOR - "I feel comfortable out there, my teammates help me feel comfortable. Everyone fits right in there and feels comfortable too. I love it out there and being on the floor with my teammates and competing. It has been a fun year for me and I'm having a great time competing with my teammates, and I think that's important

ON LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT YEAR - "Coach has been confident in me and I've been comfortable. Next year is a long ways away, so I have a long time ahead of me, but right now it's not fair to [the seniors] or anybody on the team to look at next year. We have to focus on getting better this week and prepare for Saturday. I think that is everyone's focus."
