What has been the most positive thing for the team this year?
I think the fact that we have anyone that can score. On any night we have a person that can go off for 20 points, and on the next night it could be somebody totally different. Balance is something that we have on this team that we haven't had in the past and I think it is just a great thing to be a part of and everyone has just fed off of that. Our freshman are coming in and scoring as well, and I think we are just really hard to guard.
What was the motivating factor behind the team this season?
Our motivating factor would be just to win a Big 12 championship. From the very first day of practice, that is what we said and we wrote down on a piece of paper things that we wanted to accomplish and I think that was on was on everybody's list. Being ranked in the top 5 just comes along with it. We just want to keep playing hard every game.
What are the team's goals for the remainder of the season?
Well obviously we want a national championship. We just want to keep winning and try to get out of Big 12 play with just our one loss, and we want to win the Big 12 conference title outright. We want to also win a Big 12 Tournament title as well.
How has the teams balance helped this team?
It helps because opposing teams don't know who to guard. You have to guard everybody at all times. Most of the times, other teams have maybe 1-2 good girls that you can focus on so they cant score You really cant do that with our team, because on any given night, anyone can go off
How has the team reacted to a seven player rotation?
I think that maybe a seven player rotation will work to our advantage because we can go longer in a game. Each person can go longer with minutes played and we won't have to call as many timeouts. I think that we are really in shape, so I don't think our seven player rotation really affects how we play.
