LAST YEAR AT THE TYSON INVITATIONAL
Chris Cardwell and Kaleigh Teel set Baylor records, and the men's 4x400 relay team won for the fourth time this season to highlight Baylor's second day of competition at the Tyson Invitational Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark. Cardwell, a senior from Abilene, Texas, recorded a distance of 16.81 meters (55-02) in the men's weight throw to break his own Baylor standard in the event. A sophomore from Friendswood, Texas, Teel recorded a height of 3.68 meters (12-00.75) to set a new school record in the women's pole vault and place 11th in the event. The Bears 4x400 relay team of sophomore R.J. Anderson, freshmen David Gettis and J.T. Scheuerman and sophomore Quentin Iglehart-Summers won the event in 3:08.07, with Inglehart-Summers running a 45.8 anchor leg to secure the victory. Using seven different runners through four meets, Baylor's men's 4x400 has won four of its five races and been the first-place collegiate team in every race. Its only setback came to Team USA in the Invitational 4x400 at the Tyson Invitational, Feb. 9.

LAST TIME OUT
The Baylor track and field team won three relay titles and Trey Harts recorded the third fastest time in the nation in the 200 meters on the second day of the Husker Invitational at the Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb. Overall, Baylor won seven event finals and recorded three provisional qualifying times on Saturday afternoon. Baylor swept the men's and women's 4x400-meter relays. The men's team was without the services of national champions Quentin Iglehart-Summers and LeJerald Betters, but still managed to win with a time of 3:10.66. The 4x400-meter relay win is the 16th-straight event final win for the Bears against collegiate competition. Baylor has won 18 of its last 19 races against NCAA teams. The Bears did break a streak of eight straight races with a provisional qualifying time. Harts led off for the Bears with a 47.8 split out of the blocks. Harts passed off to Marcus Boyd in a three-way tie at the first exchange, but Boyd jumped out quickly through the first turn to gain the advantage for the Bears. Boyd split 47.4 and passed to J.T. Scheuerman in first place. Scheuerman recorded a time of 47.8 on his leg and gave the stick to Justin Boyd on the anchor. Boyd held a comfortable lead through the first 200 meters, and held off Illinois through the second lap to secure the win. The Lady Bears won their first 4x400-meter relay final of the season with a time of 3:44.48. Harts won his fourth-straight 200 meter race, clocking a time of 21.09, the third-fastest in the nation. Courtney Thomas finished third with a career-best 21.35. Brittany Carr finished fourth in the women's 200 meters with a time of 24.40.
